Spanning the Hummingbird, J-45, and L-00 lineups, these updated guitars arrive with all-solid tonewoods, Fishman electronics, and refined specs built for players at every level.

The Gibson family tree just got a little more accessible with the announcement of the 2026 Inspired by Gibson Acoustic Collection – a refreshed and expanded lineup of five models built around some of the most storied acoustic silhouettes in guitar history.

Across the five models (the Hummingbird Standard EC, Hummingbird Standard, J-45 Standard EC, J-45 Standard, and L-00 Standard), each guitar has been updated with all-solid tonewood construction, pairing solid spruce tops with solid mahogany backs and sides. Rosewood fretboards, bone nuts and saddles, and Fishman electronics feature throughout the range.

Catch up on all the latest news here.

The Gibson Hummingbird debuted in 1960 as the company’s first square-shouldered acoustic dreadnought. The J-45, nicknamed “The Workhorse”, has been Gibson’s best-selling acoustic since its 1942 introduction, and the L-00 is a smaller parlour-style body with roots going back to the early 1930s.

The EC variants of the Hummingbird and J-45 add a cutaway body for easier upper-fret access and come fitted with Fishman preamps featuring side-mounted controls for volume and EQ, with a built-in tuner included on both. Non-cutaway models across the Hummingbird, J-45, and L-00 use Fishman Presys VT preamps with soundhole-mounted volume and tone controls, keeping things tidy from the audience’s perspective.

Tuning hardware differs slightly across the range. The Hummingbird Standard uses Epiphone Deluxe tuners with a gold finish and Keystone buttons, the L-00 Standard gets Grover Mini Rotomatic tuners, and the remaining three – both EC models and the J-45 Standard – are fitted with full-size Grover Rotomatic tuners. All five models ship with a premium gig bag.

Epiphone Product Manager Aljon Go put it plainly: “We built these guitars for players. Whether you’re writing your first song, stepping onto your first stage, or cutting your next record, these acoustics are ready.”
