Epiphone has partnered up with Tony Iommi on the ‘SG Special’

Epiphone has partnered up with Tony Iommi to launch an exciting version of his original 1964 Gibson SG Special guitar that helped shape heavy mental and create his de-tuned, heavy riffs and insane tones.

What you need to know:

  • Epiphone has partnered up with Tony Iommi to launch the new SG Special Vintage Cherry Guitar, inspired by Tony’s original 1964 Gibson SG guitar
  • It is available now for both left and right-handed players.
  • Tony’s signature is engraved on the back of the headstock.

The Tony Iommi SG Special features a two-piece mahogany body, a bound one-piece mahogany neck with a rounded profile, and an Indian laurel fretboard with 22 frets.

It also comes with a Graph Tech nut, Grover Rotomatic tuners, chrome-covered Epiphone PRO P-90 pickups that are wired to CTS potentiometers, and Orange Drop capacitors.

To top it off, the legendary guitar’s signature is engraved on the back of the headstock.

To continue the heavy metal for future generations to come, it is available for both left and right-handed players. It comes in a glossy, Vintage Cherry finish with contemporary style buttons. The guitar is available now.

It comes in a hardshell case with a static cling reproduction of Tony’s infamous ‘Monkey’ sticker included.
