To honour Alex’s work, style and influence, Epiphone has announced the new Alex Lifeson Les Paul Custom Axcess. The Axcess is a Les Paul Custom, complete with ebony board and block inlays, coupled with a Floyd Rose 1000 bridge and locking nut. The Floyd Rose breathes new life into the Les Paul, adding the option for additional expression, sounds and vibrato, coupled with unparalleled tuning stability. Speaking to the new guitar, Lifeson says:
“This is a stunning guitar, it’s beautiful and it sounds great to play. You have got to plug it in and play it, it sounds great. You can create a lot of different tones and sounds, and a player at any level can make use of this guitar. Playing guitar takes you to that place in your heart and your soul to express yourself creatively and to just have fun, it is just fun to play, it always has been and always will be.”
Alex Lifeson’s influence cannot be understated, RUSH having spent decades pushing the boundaries of rock, all the while inspiring growing musicians to be better. The new Alex Lifeson Les Paul Custom Axcess is finished in Ruby, a red stained, flame maple finish, the body being multi-ply bound and complimented by gold hardware. The Ceramic Pro and ProBucker 3 pickups have coil spits available for even more tonal versatility. This truly is a reflection of Lifeson’s legacy, pursuing classic tones while having modern flexibility available.
