The strapping young lad himself, Devin Townsend, will touch down on Australian shores in November. On the back of his new album Lightwork, Townsend will play four shows, starting in Perth before moving up the east coast to Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.

Devin has decades of work under his belt, from work with Steve Vai in the early 90s, moving through Strapping Young Lad in the 2000s and more solo focused work under his own name, as well as The Devin Townsend Band and The Devin Townsend Project. Devin’s own brand operatic, anthemic rock and metal transcends genre, bringing metal, opera, rock, pop and electronic together in a melting pot of influences.
A sight to behold, Devin’s stage shows rival his music, elevating his guitar playing and arrangement. Devin is also a seasoned producer, and his own music takes cues from the mountains of records he’s overseen, produced and engineered, while also being informed by his own influences. Devin Townsend has produced for Misery Signals, Darkest Hour, Bleeding Through, Gwar and Lamb of God.
Devin Townsend’s is not a show to be missed, his take on contemporary music inspiring everyone anew. He sees music in a whole new way, shifting seamlessly from heavy, boisterous riffs to ethereal, magical ambience that needs to be seen, felt, heard and experienced to be believed.
The tour so far has seen Devin pull songs from his entire catalogue to help promote the stellar work that is Lightwork. A show not to be missed.
