After the heartbreak of last year’s cancelations, Bluesfest Touring has announced rescheduled tour dates for a number of acts who were set to headline their 2020 festivities.
Two of the biggest drawcards from last year’s event, guitar legend George Benson and punk poet Patti Smith, are locked in to perform a string of shows in both Melbourne and Sydney, with Patti Smith also set to trek over to perform in Christchurch and Auckland this April.
Reggae icons The Wailers will also be making up for last year’s lost dates with a pair of shows at Melbourne’s 170 Russell and the Metro in Sydney, while Hammond prodigy Cory Henry and his band The Funk Apostles will also be playing 170 Russell and The Factory Theatre in Sydney.
Similarly, Larkin Poe have been confirmed to make the trek back over to our shores in April 2022 for their own headline shows at the Factory Theatre and Melbourne’s Corner Hotel, rounding out what looks to be a packed month of gigs.
In addition to today’s news, the Bluesfest team have revealed that they’re actively working towards securing rescheduled dates for other international acts set to appear at the 2020 festival, including Morcheeba, LP and Marcus King Band.
