The popular analog-modelled drum plugin gets a comprehensive update with an onboard sequencer, iOS support, and community-driven enhancements.
Baby Audio has released Tekno V1.1, a significant update to its circuit-modelled drum synthesiser that launched in September 2025. The update addresses one of the most requested features from users: an integrated sequencer that transforms the plugin into a complete beat-making environment. Since its debut in September, Tekno has earned recognition for its authentic analog-style drum synthesis and expansive sound design capabilities. The plugin’s circuit modelling approach delivers the character and punch of hardware drum machines while still offering the flexibility of software.

Onboard sequencer
The new sequencer view provides dedicated lanes for all 18 voices, with each lane supporting up to 32 steps. Producers can create evolving patterns using smart randomisation tools, adjust individual lane lengths to build polyrhythms, and apply speed multipliers for rhythmic variations. A hit chance parameter adds controlled unpredictability to patterns, bringing organic variation to programmed beats.
Additional improvements
Beyond the sequencer, V1.1 introduces several practical improvements shaped by user feedback. Global undo and redo functionality makes experimentation less risky, while the ability to export full kits as samples streamlines integration with other production tools. Four choke groups give users precise control over voice interactions, essential for realistic hi-hat and cymbal programming.
iOS edition
Baby Audio is also expanding Tekno’s reach with an iOS edition launching alongside the desktop update on 8 January 2026. The mobile version includes full AUv3 support, allowing producers to use Tekno within iPad and iPhone DAWs with the same feature set as the desktop plugin.

The update arrives at no additional cost to existing Tekno users. New customers can explore the plugin through a re-introductory offer.
