The NCEC and NCTH use VLM technology to deliver mix-ready vocals without replacing your current wireless hardware.
AUDIX has released two new wireless vocal capsules that screw straight into handheld transmitters from other brands – meaning you can get AUDIX’s microphone sound without buying a whole new wireless system. The Novacore NCEC (Extended Cardioid) and NCTH (Tight Hypercardioid) are both shipping now.

Both capsules use AUDIX’s proprietary VLM (Very Low Mass) technology, which keeps the diaphragm light enough to respond quickly to transients and reproduce vocals naturally. In practice, that means less time reaching for EQ at front of house. Internal vibration isolation also keeps handling noise down, which matters for high-energy performers who aren’t exactly treating the mic like museum pieces.
The two models cover different situations. The NCEC has a wider pickup pattern – forgiving for performers who move around or aren’t locked into perfect mic technique, and well-suited to worship environments and general lead vocals. The NCTH picks up a tighter cone of sound, rejecting more of what’s happening off to the sides, which helps with feedback control on loud stages.
Beyond third-party compatibility, the capsules are also the microphone heads for AUDIX’s new Novacore platform – a full digital wireless system with 24-bit audio, under 3 ms latency, AES-256 encryption and Dante networking built into the multi-channel receivers.
“These new capsules allow performers to connect directly with the trusted AUDIX stage voicing, regardless of the system they are currently running,” says Steve Young, AUDIX Director of Sales. “By bringing our proprietary VLM technology into the digital wireless domain, we’re allowing customers to effortlessly achieve pristine, mix-ready vocals on their existing setups.”
