Arturia’s flagship stage keyboard lands in a silver finish

Arturia AstroLab 61 Silver
Words by Mixdown

The French synth maker keeps every sound engine, control and connection from the original AstroLab 61 and dips it into a premium silver chassis.

Arturia has given its AstroLab 61 stage keyboard a silver finish, keeping the same 11 sound engines and studio-to-stage setup behind a new look.

Catch up on all the latest news here.

The finish is the only thing that’s changed, so the specs carry straight across from the original. The 61-note semi-weighted keybed still has piano-size keys and aftertouch, and the metal chassis still tips the scales at 9.9kg.

More than 40 instruments sit across 11 sound engines, spanning virtual analog, samples, wavetable, FM, granular, physical modelling, vector synthesis, harmonic, phase distortion, vocoder and Karplus synthesis, which together add up to over 1800 onboard presets. Owners can pull in more than 10,000 extra sounds through Arturia’s V Collection and Pigments software.

A navigation wheel and screen handle browsing, 10 preset buttons take care of quick recall, and four macro knobs run brightness, timbre, time and movement. Twelve insert effects sit on board with four dedicated knobs for delay, reverb and the rest, and keyboard splits and multis let you stack or divide sounds across the keys. There’s also an arpeggiator, a MIDI looper plus chord and scale modes.

Round the back you’ll find MIDI DIN in and out, a balanced stereo input, sustain, expression and two auxiliary pedal inputs, USB-C, a USB-A host port, Bluetooth audio and WiFi for wireless control.

The ecosystem is untouched too, with AstroLab Connect still managing playlists and your library from a phone. Analog Lab Pro looks after preset editing and syncing back in the studio, so your custom patches follow you from the DAW to the stage.
