The dual effect chain router and feedbacker opens up unconventional signal path possibilities for guitarists and synthesists.
Portuguese manufacturer ADDAC System has released the Mixology pedal, a dual effect chain router and feedbacker that brings modular-style routing flexibility to your pedalboard. Designed for guitarists, synthesists and other instrumentalists looking to break free from conventional signal chains, Mixology offers a level of control that’s rarely seen in traditional pedal formats.

At its core, the pedal features two FX loops that can be routed in parallel, series, or inverted order. Users can direct inputs to the dry signal or opposite return, creating complex configurations with just the one pedal. Both input and output stages have dedicated gain controls, while two feedback loops enable each FX return to feed back into its own send or the opposite one for individual or series feedback.
The FX knob handles crossfading between FX1 and FX2, while the WET | DRY control blends between processed and dry signals. These mixing options alone deliver plenty of sonic territory to explore, but ADDAC has taken things further with extensive expression pedal integration.
Expression pedal inputs operate in two distinct modes depending on the parameter. When controlling WET | DRY or FX Mix, the expression pedal completely overrides the corresponding knob position. For Input Gain, FX1 and FX2 Feedback parameters, the knob sets the upper limit of the expression pedal’s range, letting players determine how dramatically the pedal can influence each parameter.
Live loopers will find particular value in Mixology’s routing capabilities. The pedal allows recording loops with or without effects, while maintaining the ability to place the same effect chain after recording. Changing routing on the fly means inputs can instantly pass through desired FX loops without physically reorganising the pedalboard. FX returns double as additional inputs, adding further flexibility to any setup.
What might initially appear to be a utility pedal quickly reveals itself as a performance tool. Combining expression pedals with Mixology’s routing options allows players to dial in dynamic timbral shifts and textural changes that respond to their playing in the moment.
ADDAC System has built its reputation on bringing unconventional approaches to sound design, primarily through its Eurorack modules. Mixology extends that philosophy into the pedal domain, with routing possibilities that feel more aligned with modular synthesis than traditional guitar pedals. For musicians who’ve felt limited by linear signal chains, this pedal presents an intriguing solution.
