Akai’s MPC 3.8 update brings MPC Sample directly into the MPC ecosystem

The free firmware and software update tightens the connection between MPC hardware and MPC Sample, making it easier to move projects between the two.

Akai Professional has released MPC OS 3.8, a free update for the full MPC lineup that centres on one thing: bringing MPC Sample and MPC closer together.

Until now, MPC Sample and MPC existed as separate tools – useful on their own, but requiring a few extra steps to move between them. MPC OS 3.8 addresses that directly. Projects started in MPC Sample can now load straight into MPC hardware or desktop software, and tracks can be exported back from MPC to MPC Sample without rebuilding anything from scratch. For producers who move between the two regularly, that back-and-forth is now significantly less clunky.

The other notable addition is MPC Sample’s effects suite, which is now built into MPC itself. That means the processing tools previously exclusive to MPC Sample are accessible inside MPC regardless of which environment you’re working in – no switching required.

The update also includes bug fixes and stability improvements across supported devices.
