Sendy Audio has introduced the KYLIN, a desktop DAC and headphone amplifier built around high-resolution decoding, Class A amplification, and a component list that means business. First previewed at CanJam NYC 2025, it’s now available as a standalone release aimed at listeners who want high-resolution playback without colouration or compromise. An XMOS USB audio solution handles signal transmission with low jitter, feeding an ESS ES9038Q2M DAC chip that’s become a trusted name in the space. Native DSD512 decoding is supported, meaning bit-perfect playback from compatible sources is on the table.

Under the hood, the KYLIN is built around a set of components that reflect some deliberate decision-making. Amplification is handled by a dedicated Class A output stage using matched HITACHI B649 / D669 transistors, delivering smooth, controlled power rather than the edgy performance that flatters some recordings and exposes others. Dual Burr-Brown OPA604 op-amps run in mono configuration for preamp duties, supported by WIMA and NICHICON capacitors providing 9,400uF of total capacity for a stable power foundation throughout the signal path.
Three headphone outputs cover virtually any setup (4-pin XLR balanced, 4.4mm balanced, and 6.35mm single-ended), while automatic impedance detection adjusts output based on your headphone’s impedance, making it easy to move between different models without fuss. A Japanese APLS potentiometer handles volume with a precision and smoothness that cheaper controls rarely match, and a selectable gain switch adds flexibility when moving between different headphones or sources. A servo-regulated power supply works to keep noise out of the signal path, and the whole unit sits inside a precision-machined aluminium chassis that manages heat well and looks clean on any desk.
