Powderfinger are reuniting for a one-off charity show next weekend

Bernard Fanning and co. are dusting off their amps to put on One Night Lonely as an online exclusive performance on their YouTube channel. The Brisbane rock outfit are locked in to play a set of all their biggest hits to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Odyssey Number 5, and is set to kick off at 7pm Saturday May 23.

“The five of us have been meeting regularly over the past few months to organise some Odyssey Number 5 anniversary releases,” Powderfinger said in a statement released today. “The idea came up of playing together again in this unusual format which we all thought would be fun.”

“The past few months has been a very strange time for us all and difficult days for many. We really just want to bring a smile to some people’s faces and along the way raise some funds to help our music industry mates and people who are currently experiencing mental health issues.”

Powderfinger recently teased speculation of their comeback when their social media was updated with new images last week. The last time the group united was in 2017 at Bernard Fanning’s Splendour In The Grass set, which notably omitted drummer Jon Coghill – although it looks like he’s down to ride with the boys again next weekend. Needless to say, we’re hyped.
