If your songwriting is lacking advice from experts of the craft, you’re in luck: The Melbourne Sessions is launching to help you build your writing skills and find opportunities in the music industry.
Presented by APRA AMCOS and the Victorian government through Creative Victoria, The Melbourne Sessions will provide a one-day songwriting extravaganza complete with masterclasses, workshops, and a host of networking opportunities for Aussie songwriters. Better yet, they’ve enlisted the help of industry experts to ensure you’re getting the best advice.
Grammy-winning producer Warryn Campbell (Kanye West, Alicia Keys, Missy Elliot) will start the conversation, followed by masterclasses from the likes of acclaimed songwriter and solo artist Shungudzo, plus workshops featuring Jen Cloher, Adalita, Joelistics and more.
Ben Abraham will also lead a masterclass to share his experiences in the field of songwriting, fresh from co-writing Kesha’s Grammy-nominated hit ‘Praying’. “I am stoked to have the chance to lead a masterclass for The Melbourne Sessions,” said Abraham. “I grew up around songwriting and am super passionate to share everything I know about the craft with anyone who will listen.”
