BROADSHEET – SOCIAL VIDEO DIRECTOR AND EDITOR (MELBOURNE)

 

Broadsheet are excited to be growing their already successful video team with a Social Video Director/Editor. What are they looking for? Someone who lives and breathes online video content. Someone who can concept, write, direct and edit all with a clear understanding of how to engage an audience primarily through social channels. Broadsheet produce new-generation video content – content that is made for online viewing, whether it’s on Facebook, Instagram, or on-site – and this role will be pivotal in creating great stories that engage their online audience. Broadsheet want someone who is excited by the challenge of creating entertaining, considered video content that doesn’t rely on big budgets and high production to be engaging.

 

Skills/Responsibilities:

  • Audience engagement: You will ask yourself why the audience should care about the story you’re telling, and have a clear idea of what value the video delivers. You need to think audience first – not just what will engage the audience but how you will engage them, knowing what will stop their thumbs when they’re mid scroll.
  • Storytelling: Similar to a show runner, you will be behind the narrative of a piece of video content from concept to editing. This includes having an understanding of how each piece of content will look on the platform you’re distributing it through.
  • Directing: You will have a clear idea of the narrative arch that you’re building and what you want to capture on shoots, directing the team and talent.
  • Editing: You will confidently edit footage, understanding what adds to the narrative you’re building and knowing what isn’t needed. You will need to make tough decisions knowing that you have to capture and hold the audience’s attention.  
  • Growth: Constantly adjusting your approach based on the feedback you’re getting from the audience and the viewing data.
  • A working knowledge of the latest industry codecs and formats is highly regarded.
  • Good technical knowledge of Sony camera equipment and basic lighting
  • Video editing (Premiere/After Effects/Adobe Creative Cloud)
  • Motion graphic experience in 2D Animation. (3D animation not essential but highly regarded)
  • Competent understanding of filing systems and structures for archiving and project productivity
  • Great understanding of social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, etc.

 

Experience Required:

  • You should have significant experience as a Director / Editor – maintaining standards, following a style guide, giving direction and feedback and making fast decisions
  • Experience working within film in advertorial and story sense
  • Fluid, natural communicator who has experience writing and editing copy for treatments and presenting to internal team and external clients
  • Experience in Directing (filming experience video is highly regarded)

UNIFIED – JUNIOR GRAPHIC DESIGNER (MELBOURNE)

This position will be within UNIFIED’s Merchandise Services team and will work closely with artists and artist management in executing on artist vision and concepts. Skills/Responsibilities:

  • Creation of exceptional artwork, illustration and the general execution of artist visions for use on apparel and other related merchandise options for managed artists, prospective clients and 24hundred brands
  • Maintain and utilise your vision boards and stay in-touch with apparel and merchandise trends in the global and local marketplace to understand and execute nuances and direction in design between artists, genres and brands
  • Manage workflow and preparation of print-ready artwork for production teams and creation or collation of digital assets for use by Marketing Manager or Creative Content manager for use in the digital landscape.
  • An ability to communicate effectively via email, internal chat programs and in person, reliability and strong work ethic are essential and imperative to the job.
  • The applicant must also have an understanding of working within a team in a structured environment; that is you must understand deadlines, interpreting and understanding briefs, effective communication and understanding the outcome of your work.

 

Experience Required:

  • The applicant must have a proven track record managing diverse clients or can otherwise demonstrate variety in their offering as a designer.
  • You will need to be able to adapt a creative agenda when considering sales history, costs and production barriers.

With a focus on participation programs, they are looking for an experienced, passionate and community-minded Creative Producer to contribute to the conception and, creation of the program and to, scope, develop, facilitate, implement and deliver a range of inspiring, balanced and financially-viable program of theatrical presentations, projects and events for targeted and diverse communities which complement the wider arts program of Arts Centre Melbourne.

 

Skills/Responsibilities:

  • Strong understanding of event marketing, ticketing and technical requirements
  • Strong understanding of theatre and venue operations
  • Extensive contacts in the performing arts industry locally and internationally
  • A thorough understanding of the programming and presentation environment of Arts Centre Melbourne
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Experience in the use of an integrated venue management system desirable (EBMS & Tessitura preferred).
  • Exposure to or an understanding of Government requirements, policies and procedures is desirable

  • Excellent problem solving skills

 

Experience Required:

  • Relevant professional or tertiary qualification in arts, a specific art form, event management, or related disciplines and/or equivalent industry experience
  • Proven ability to develop and deliver large scale public participation programs
  • Significant experience in project management of complex arts projects from concept stage through to completion
  • Significant experience scoping and managing project budgets and resources
  • Significant experience in establishing networks and maintaining effective relationships with stakeholders, community and industry
  • Significant experience coordinating large or complex projects and in coordinating and interpreting event requirements
  • Significant experience in working closely with artists particularly during planning and presentation stages of projects
  • Significant administrative experience including intermediate level knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
  • Experience in the use of an integrated venue management system desirable (EBMS & Tessitura preferred).
