STREAMING MEDIA MANAGER – UNIVERSAL MUSIC GROUP (Sydney)

Ever wanted to work for a major record label? Always dreamed of working in an office overlooking the Sydney Harbour? Of course you have. Universal Music Group is on the hunt for a Media Manager to take the reins of the exponentially growing streaming market, working with digital business partners to create marketing campaigns and promotions to deliver chart share and revenue growth for designated releases. 

 

Skills/Responsibilities Required:

  • You spend more time per day than you’d like to admit curating your perfect playlists. You’re a subscriber and consumer of various music and media platforms, and know the ins and outs of music streaming
  • You have a knack for developing and nurturing relationships with clients and contacts
  • You are a creative marketer with solid media/digital knowledge and experience
  • You are also a nerd with insights and reporting
  • You follow the music industry, our artists and our labels. You understand how the landscape has changed and have ideas for how artists can commercialise outside of the recorded business

  • You thrive off pressure and love the hustle of a large workload

Tasks Include:

  • Increasing streaming chart share for priority releases on a monthly basis through marketing/promotional strategies to exploit our artists and their profiles
  • Identifying artist and release opportunities with selected digital business partners from delivery, to execution on platform, through to on-and-off platform digital marketing initiatives
  • Developing and implementing national streaming strategy with national and global playlists, online radio and platforms
  • Strategising creative artist plans for streaming platforms, in collaboration with Marketing & Media Teams
  • Developing and maintaining strong and effective relationships with streaming partners, digital platforms, curators and playlisters
  • Collaborating with wider business to ensure strategies are consistent and aligned with Global and local best practices

RADIO ANNOUNCER – SOUTHERN CROSS AUSTEREO (Shepparton)

If you’re looking to make a big break in the radio world, this could be for you: Southern Cross Austereo is looking for a morning person to act as a Radio Announcer for the breakfast show in the regional Victorian paradise of Shepparton. 

 

Skills/Responsibilities Required:

  • Have the ability to carry on-air shifts at a commercial level
  • Have operational skills and awareness, with previous industry specific experience preferred
  • Be competent with commercial radio music scheduling experience
  • Have knowledge of Music Master and Next Gen
  • Have a sound knowledge and understanding of CRA’s Codes of Practice and Broadcasting Standards
  • Enjoy popular culture, social media, current affairs and local event, with a passion for taking content to the next level, both on air and online

DISTRIBUTION AND LOGISTICS MANAGER – FENDER (Sydney)

Without Fender guitars, music would struggle to exist. If you feel so inclined, you could help music out, and apply for this job as Distribution and Logistics Manager for Fender Australia, where you’ll be responsible for overseeing the planning strategies out of their facilities in Erskine Park.

 

Skills/Responsibilities Required:

  • Minimum of 7 years of Distribution Center Logistics experience with at least 3 years leading teams within a Third-Party Logistics environment
  • Experience and comfort leading large teams while partnering and influencing a team that does not report to you (i.e. 3PL employees)
  • University degree in logistics, engineering, or another related field
  • Experience in strategic planning and execution with proven process and cost improvement
  • Knowledge of electrical compliance standards
  • IT skills: Working knowledge of WMS and ERP systems. Functional level in Word and PowerPoint (or similar) and Excel
  • Excellent demonstrated verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated diplomatic and conflict resolution skills (maintaining a good working relationship between Fender and suppliers in situations where there are often conflicts of interest)
  • Able to analyse large amounts of data, and synthesise it into meaningful reports, analysis, or trends
  • Experience in Australian Customs and compliance legislation and practical application
  • Understands a P&L and can build and plan an operations budget
  • Experienced in contract definition and negotiation in a purchasing or Logistics function
  • Demonstrated team development abilities including team assessment for developmental need, coaching for performance, and culture change
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously in ambiguous environments or scenarios
  • Demonstrated experience in materials management
  • Experience in Inventory Planning
  • Experience within a global organisation is preferred

Tasks Include:

  • Ensure that all safety, quality, service, and cost metrics are being met by our 3PL partner in Australia as the relationship leader
  • Partner with representatives from Transportation, Planning, Sales, and Distribution to maintain the proper flow of inbound shipments to Australia
  • Ensure FMIC inventory and capital investments are protected while collaborating with the Third-Party in the development and implementation of systems and processes to ensure volume adjusted budget objectives are met
  • Collaborate with the service provider in the development and implementation of systems and processes that ensure a high degree of inventory integrity by confirming inventory best practices (i.e. cycle counting, non-conforming material processing, and inbound supplier and outbound delivery audits) are in place
  • Ensure the contractual levels of inventory accuracy are achieved and sustained while also leading formal reviews of the Inventory KPIs with the Third Party that establishes and confirms their accountability
  • Develop relationship and lead discussions between the team and the Third-Party to guarantee that both inbound and outbound operational commitments are met
  • Assist in the resolution of transportation issues as required and lead formal reviews of the Delivery and Transportation KPIs with the Third-Party that confirms that the accountability of the Third-Party is understood
  • Provide informal coaching and feedback to the Third-Party operations team, when necessary, to safeguard effective distribution and supply chain systems to improve overall performance
  • Manage the local quality team
  • Manage and maintain product compliance documentation
  • Maintain CITES documentation
  • Maintain a high level of transparency and provide excellent communication to all stakeholders through effective communication

AUDIO-VISUAL TECHNICIAN – BIG MUSIC (Sydney)

Big Music, one of Sydney’s leading contemporary music schools, is looking for an experienced AV Technician to work on a casual basis at their Crows Nest studios. 

 

Skills/Responsibilities Required:

  • Advanced AV skills with a minimum of 3 years experience
  • Knowledge of both digital and analogue sound consoles
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Work well in a team environment and have the ability to work autonomously
  • Flexible with shifts and rosters including weekends
  • Excellent organisational skills

Tasks Include:

  • Set up, management and maintenance of all studio facilities
  • Trouble shoot issues when required
  • Test and check musical instruments and equipment including Test and Tag management
  • Consultation with Programme Director
  • Supervision of junior AV crew
  • Arrange equipment for service and repair
