LOGISTICS SUPERVISOR – FENDER MUSIC AUSTRALIA (Sydney)
If you’re good with your brain and like all things guitars, then this is the gig for you. Fender Music Australia are seeking an experienced Logistics Supervisor to execute logistics strategies and planning activities from their Sydney offices.
Skills/Responsibilities Required:
- Minimum of 5 years of varied Logistics experience, with a minimum of 3 years leading teams in a distribution environment and a minimum of 3 years experience in managing 3PL
- University degree in Logistics, Engineering, or another related technical field
- Experience in strategic planning and execution with proven process and cost improvement
- Knowledge of electrical compliance standards
- IT skills: Working knowledge of WMS and ERP systems
- Functional level in Word and PowerPoint (or similar) and Excel
- Excellent demonstrated verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated diplomatic and conflict resolution skills (maintaining a good working relationship between Fender and suppliers in situations where there are often conflicts of interest)
- Able to analyse large amounts of data, and synthesise it into meaningful reports, analysis, or trends
- Experience in Australian Customs and compliance legislation and practical application
- Financially literate; understands a P&L; can build and plan an operations budget
- Experienced in contract definition and negotiation in a purchasing or Logistics function
- Demonstrated team development abilities including team assessment for developmental need, coaching for performance, and culture change
- Experience in Inventory Planning
- Experience in working remotely and experience working globally
Tasks Include:
- Ensure that all safety, quality, service, and cost metrics are being met by our 3PL partner in Australia as the relationship leader
- Partner with representatives from Transportation, Planning, Sales, and Distribution to maintain the proper flow of inbound shipments to Australia
- Supervise QI team to execute effective inspection activities and make sure those activities meet company’s objectives and priorities
- Ensure all legal/trade requirements (e.g. Customs, CITES, Tax and disposal) are met
- Ensure electrical CE compliance to all applicable regulations/laws/trade requirements
- Ensure commerce marking and import/export regulations/laws/trade requirements are adhered to
- Manage and maintain inventory in line with FMIC policy and report irregularities appropriately to the Management
- Evaluate all third party suppliers for Inbound (Ocean) freight, as well as review and analyse all costs involved
- Ensure that the most efficient and cost effective storage methods are used for all Fender stock in Australia
- Ensure that the most efficient and cost effective transport methods are used for all outgoing Fender shipments
- Work with Marketing and Sales in preparation for local Trade shows, organise all transport and build-up/breakdown for Trade shows
- Responsible for the Logistics budget for Australia
