MARKETING AND COMMUNICATIONS DIRECTOR – QUEENSLAND MUSIC FESTIVAL (Brisbane)
Queensland Music Festival, the sunshine state’s own celebration of music and arts, is currently on the hunt for a media savvy professional to act as Marketing and Communications Director to help plan festivities for the biennial celebrations.
Skills/Responsibilities Required:
- Minimum of five years’ experience in a senior marketing/communications role
- Appropriate tertiary qualification in marketing, business or management is required
- Excellent communication skills and highly developed interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated liaison, organisational and project management skills including a proven ability to plan, initiate and oversee concurrent multiple projects
- Demonstrated experience in leadership, team management and working in a team environment
- Demonstrated skills in research and analysis
- Demonstrated experience in budget control and development
- Demonstrated experience in cultivating and maintaining internal and external stakeholder relationships
- Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proven experience of devising communications strategies and delivering marketing, press and PR campaigns
- Experience and understanding of digital marketing
- Experience of writing, editing and proofreading copy for publication as well as experience of proofing artwork
Tasks Include:
- To lead on planning, developing and implementing an integrated communications strategy which responds to the Queensland Music Festival artistic vision and business plan
- To lead on planning and implementing an overall marketing campaign for Queensland Music Festival as well as individual event marketing campaigns to achieve or exceed audience and ticket sales targets
- To work with the Executive Director to agree and set appropriate ticket prices for Queensland Music Festival or other projects as required
- Oversee the management and delivery of the communications, marketing, press and PR activities of the organisation to ensure the timely and successful promotion of Queensland Music Festival activities, using the full range of marketing and promotional tools

MUSIC FACILITATOR – THE RHYTHM VILLAGE (Sydney)
The Rhythm Village runs workshops at Special Needs Schools throughout Sydney and Canberra, using music as a medium to unlock the hidden potential and capabilities of students. They’re currently looking for big hearted musicians that are willing to to learn how to engage and educate people with special needs as they expand throughout Sydney.
Skills/Responsibilities Required:
- Proficiency with guitar, vocals and various percussion instruments
- An enduring passion for music

- Current NSW drivers licence with a reliable vehicle
- A Working With Children check, or willingness to obtain one

LABEL MANAGER – CENTRAL STATION RECORDS (Sydney)
A prominent name in Australia’s dance music scene, Central Station Records began as a record store in Melbourne 35 years ago, and now boasts a store in almost all major Australian citie. They also have an internationally-recognised record label, featuring big name artists including Public Enemy, Odd Mob and Hardwell. CSR is currently seeking a Label Manager to be based in Sydney and report to the company’s Managing Director.
Skills/Responsibilities Required:
- 3+ years Music Industry experience, club promoting experience strongly preferred
- A deep understanding of the nightlife market in Sydney and wider Australia
- Experience working with a major label in the music industry
- Demonstrated understanding of all processes and outcomes related to releasing music in the digital age
- A wide network of DJs, promoters and industry movers and shakers preferred
- A passion for working in the music industry, specifically electronic and dance music
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent professional attitude and mannerisms
- Advanced skills in office administration including time management and computer skills
Tasks Include:
- Managing external relationships
- Delivering all content to distributor and use best efforts to create an effective release campaign
- Overseeing delivery and creation of marketing and PR campaigns
- Working with A&R and Art department to create release assets and effective releases
- Working with artists where relevant in creating a release campaign
- Managing new content and playlist management.
