These compact diagnostic tools bring essential testing functions to engineers and techs, with the split-design AT-3 offering a clever solution for installation work.

XVIVE has announced two new audio testers heading to Australia in early February 2026: the AT-2 Audio Tester Pro and the AT-3 Audio Tester Ultra. Both units are designed for audio professionals who need reliable diagnostics without having to lug around a full testing rig.

Catch up on all the latest news here.

The AT-2 Audio Tester Pro is the more compact of the pair, packing five essential testing functions into a portable package. Building on XVIVE’s previous AT-1 model, this updated version delivers improved accuracy and stability across its core capabilities. You’ll get signal generation (1 KHz tone or pink noise), XLR cable testing, XLR input level metering, phantom power detection, and headphone/speaker monitoring all in one compact unit. This covers a lot of ground for anyone working with audio gear—need to troubleshoot powered speakers, effect pedals, cables, DI boxes, in-ear monitor systems, or mixers? The AT-2 can handle it all, making it particularly useful for live sound engineers, studio techs, and installation specialists who need quick diagnostics on site.

The AT-3 Audio Tester Ultra takes things further with a split-design approach that’s genuinely clever for certain applications. Rather than a single unit, the AT-3 consists of two separate pieces: a female XLR unit and a male XLR unit. Each operates independently, but interestingly, for installation work, you can test both ends of long cables simultaneously without disconnecting them or moving around constantly. This split design proves especially handy when you’re dealing with permanent installations or long cable runs where walking back and forth can become a little tiresome.

Both units can function on their own for standard testing tasks, giving plenty of flexibility depending on the job at hand. XVIVE has also bumped up the battery life on the AT-3 compared to the AT-2.

For engineers and techs tired of hauling multiple testing devices or dealing with unreliable diagnostic tools, both the AT-2 and AT-3 offer a simpler solution. The AT-2 covers the essentials in a single compact unit, while the AT-3’s split design addresses specific challenges that anyone who’s done installation work is sure to appreciate.

Both XVIVE audio testers will be available in Australia through Australis Music Group from early February 2026.
