The UI and workflow has copped some significant upgrades including an entirely new Smart Browser, which also provides access to additional plugins and effects, as well as presets, racks, samples, clips, tracks, or all.
Favourites can now be tagged and colour coded and project items can be previewed and consolidated with Smart Lists.
The colour editor also offers light and dark modes, while the ‘Actions’ and ‘Properties’ panel have been unified to reclaim screen space, and a dedicated master track has been added to both the ‘Arrange’ and ‘Mix’ windows.
Waveform 12 boasts a brand new BassOSC instrument, fifteen refreshed audio effects, six handy utility plugins, and a low latency Dual Guitar IR for modelling purposes.
MIDI editing has received a boost with new features like MIDI fold and a new knife tool.
Variety can be borne into your track with new randomisation functions for things like velocity, pitch, timing and note length and new Step Clip and MIDI Strum features.
An alternative to piano roll editing for drum tracks is present with a new event list editor and a new drum grid mode.
A completely re-worked audio engine dramatically boosts CPU performance, allowing for an array of new audio enhancements, while Waveform 12 now includes the entire DAW Essentials collection of 16 contemporary FX plugins.
