The ‘Blister In The Sun’ icons will get to take in as much of the country as possible, with gigs billed in Hobart, Melbourne, Sandstone Point, Gold Coast, Sydney, Adelaide and Perth. For their first Aussie tour since 2017, the Femmes will play a mix of their all time greatest hits as well as some classics from their fantastically whimsical tenth album Hotel Last Resort.
Bassist Brian Ritchie sat down with the Mixdown staff to chat about the new album. He said, “we’ve been chiselling away at the same rock for about four decades and constantly refining it… This has been one of our most productive and also consistent recording periods. It’s great that we are able to produce valid work this far into our trajectory.”
Tickets go on sale tomorrow, that’s Friday October 4, with the tour set to kick off in March next year. And there’s a welcome surprise for Queensland fans with the Hoodoo Guruus set to make an appearance at the Sandstone Point gig.
“They’re still fun and vital, and they still know how to make an exit,” said the folks from Rolling Stone, and we’re not ones to disagree.
