Author Punisher is the one-man industrial project of Tristan Shone, a mechanical engineer and artist from San Diego. Shone literally creates his brutal, sheering sounds from actual machines he’s designed himself; fabricating ‘Drone Machines’ and ‘Dub Machines’ from a range of raw materials and open source electronic circuitry. Check out the music video for his track ‘Nihil Strength’ below, where Author Punisher literally manipulates machines to create beats and droning textures – I reckon this would be an insane set to see in the flesh.
