The group rose to prominence after the success of their single Round & Round, the film clip to which famously featured many of Australia’s most prominent politicians dancing awkwardly to the song.
Status Updates features eleven new tracks comprising heavy drums and snarling vocals. Produced by Tom Larkin, who’s responsible for recording local legends Bodyjar, High Tension and Closure In Moscow, Status Updates is filled with culturally aware lyrics that examine introspection, anger, ambition and youthful aggression. It’s politically charged and unapologetic, but still remains poignant.
Status Updates will be out on March 20 via Gun Fever Records. For more information visit www.superbestfriendsband.tumblr.com.
