Press Club announce 2018 national tour

After roughing it out in the back of vans and cheap motels around the country for the last couple of months, it seems Press Club are eager to get right back to it on an east coast run of their own planned for the start of July. The tour will be in direct support of the band’s latest offering, Late Teens, and their newest single of the same name. The band pieced the video together for this track themselves from footage taken while they were blasting around Australia on the most recent tour, featuring segments of everything from cane fields to desert, from The Enmore to Gracetown.

The new album was developed over a six-week period at bassist Iain MacRae’s house, which the band converted into a temporary songwriting sweatshop to smash out forty or so songs that were then condensed down to their favourite dozen to make up the tracklisting. The band then spent one week at The Aviary Studios in Abbotsford recording it live with as few overdubs as possible to try and make it as raw and honest an album as they could. Drawing from personal experience and that of their friends, the album approaches the topics of displacement, relationships, inner turmoil, gentrification and inequality to thematically bring together this emotive and relatable compilation. With all this in mind, it is definitely worth heading down to watch this band convey all that they have worked so hard for in the flesh.
