With the release of their third album Kindred (Columbia Records/Sony Music Entertainment Australia) last month, the band uncovered another side to their upbeat songs, touching on themes such as depression and familial strife; proving that there is more to Passion Pit than their shiny, pop exterior suggests.
Their debut single off Kindred, ‘Lifted Up (1985)’, provides listeners with Passion Pit’s characteristically energetic tempo, while ‘Where The Sky Hangs,’ is a slower and more delicate track, exemplifying vocalist Michael Angelakos’ maturing talent for songwriting.
Joining Passion Pit on all dates will be Sydney-based indie-rock outfit The Griswolds, fresh from a huge North America tour.
