MIDNIGHT OIL ANNOUNCE WORLD TOUR

Midnight Oil Main.jpg

The band, who called it quits in 2002 when singer Peter Garrett decided to launch a political career, will not only be embarking on a very extensive list of Australian dates, but will also be taking the show to New Zealand, Brazil, America, Canada, Germany, the Netherlands, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, England, France, Switzerland, and the Czech Republic.

This will be Midnight Oil’s most extensive tour since their heyday of the late 80s and early 90s, with 18 dates in Australia alone. Given the group’s connection with central Australia it makes sense that the tour begins in the Northern Territory, taking in Alice Springs and Darwin before moving into Cairns, Townsville and Rockhampton – all places that are often ignored by major touring itineraries.

The band have also announced a reissue series comprised of three box sets, titled The Full Tank, which gathers all of their existing albums and EPs, and a new collection of unreleased material titled The Overflow Tank. The latter contains over 14 hours of rarities and previously unreleased material spread over four CDs and eight DVDs. The band’s 11 albums and two EPs will also be remastered and rereleased on vinyl for the first time as part of this series.

Midnight Oil are touring Australia in October and November through Frontier Touring. For the complete tour dates and pre order details for the reissue series head to midnightoil.com.
