With a seven year gap between their most recent release The Light In You and the previous album, Snowflake Midnight, many have been wondering what Mercury Rev have been up to all this time. According to Grasshopper, the audience can expect “the best stuff we (the band) have done in a long time”.
The album comes as the first with Bella Union and with production taken care of by Jonathan and Grasshopper. The Light In You is said to reflect the core relationship between the two best friends over the years.
Joining the band in Melbourne and Sydney will be James Dela Cruz from The Avalanches, with Primitive Motion accompanying them in Brisbane. Additionally, Mercury Rev can be seen playing at the brand new event to hit NSW, Fairgrounds Festival. Don’t miss out on seeing Mercury Rev live and experiencing the world created by their music and performance. As Grasshopper says “just sit back and enter and immerse yourself”.
