GREAT SOUTHERN BLUES FESTIVAL GEARS UP FOR ONE LAST TIME

“This year we have a terrific blend of much-loved artists, hot international acts and some of the most exciting up-and-coming local and national blues artists Australia has to offer.” says Mumme.

The festival is now only two weeks away, and organisers are putting the finishing touches on the last incarnation of this legendary festival.

This will be the last year with the festival running in its current format due to a changing marketplace and the complex nature of running a multi-day event, which has saddened many in the industry, including singer-songwriter Tony Jaggers.

“The Great Southern Blues Festival has brought a myriad of exceptional artists to this regional area (and) it’s always the musical highlight of the year. I’m deeply saddened by its demise and I hope that Neil Mumme receives the accolades he justly deserves for putting “the blues” into blues festival.” says Jaggers

Artists joining Jaggers on the bill include international acts Steve Poltz, Chris Cain, and George Porter and the Runnin Pardners, and locals Ross Wilson and The Peaceniks, Blue King Brown, and The Backsliders.
