The highly-anticipated festival debut was a huge success, boasting a lineup featuring the likes of Korn, Limp Bizkit, Prophets of Rage, Mastodon, and more. Download was praised by its programmer, Nigel Melder, who also confirmed the festival would continue in 2019 with stops in Melbourne and Sydney.
“We could not be happier with how Download rolled out in 2018,” said Melder. “The warmth and support from the heavy music community was unprecedented. From fans to industry and media the love has been out of this world. We can’t thank everyone enough for their behaviour yesterday and we are excited to confirm that Download will return to Melbourne and also make its Sydney debut in 2019.”
Missed out on Download? We’re rolling out interviews with some of the biggest names on the lineup over the next few days. First up: we chat with the new four-piece lineup of American metalcore outfit Issues.
