BYRON BAY BLUESFEST NOMINATED FOR INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL OF THE YEAR

The blues and roots festival celebrated its 27th year over the Easter weekend in March with a lineup that included Kendrick Lamar, Brian Wilson, D’Angelo, Tom Jones and Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds. It will be in competition at the awards with other major music festivals including Glastonbury, Primavera Sound and Lollapalooza Berlin.

“Bluesfest is proud to be nominated for this prestigious award for the fifth year in a row,” said festival director Peter Noble. “This accolade is awarded by our industry peers, who we would like to thank for their ongoing support. Now let’s knock off the holy grail and see this award won by someone outside of the UK for the first time in history.”

The 2017 lineup for Byron Bay Bluesfest includes Neil Young, Patti Smith, Madness, Barry Gibb, Billy Bragg and Buddy Guy. For ticketing and information head to bluesfest.com.au.
