Bluesfest Byron Bay has been cancelled

Due to concerns surrounding the pandemic resulting in social isolation measures and NSW Health Minister Brad Hazzard issuing an executive order to force the immediate cancellation of public events with over 500 people, festival director Peter Noble OAM has said it was ‘obvious’ that the festival wouldn’t be able to occur next month.

“We are heartbroken as we believe we were presenting one of the best ever bills of talent for you,” Noble said in a statement released today. “We are now working through how to move forward and to give you details. I thank you for allowing us enough time to get everything in place for the best possible outcome for everyone.”

At the moment, we’re still waiting on details to come through about which sideshows will be canceled and which shows will be allowed to go ahead. The festival was set to feature the likes of Lenny Kravitz, Patti Smith, Crowded House, Alanis Morrisette and more.
