PRS’ HDRX 20 lower-wattage amp is designed to push for clear sounds and articulate aggression that can be dialled down for a smoother and sweeter tone.
Coming with the additional modern feature for HDRX amps; the new master volume control makes it more accessible for players to control the volume. It is convenient for those who want more usable volumes and aren’t looking to add a volume attenuator to their setup.
The individually designed treble and bass volume controls exclude the need for a jumper cable, also with internally bridged channels. This amp features a three-band TMB tone stack, two-way bright switch, high-mid gain switch, and presence controls.
Eric Johnson describes the sound of the amp as “an old vintage plexi – PRS has painstakingly recreated the sound of the old transformers and it makes quite a difference in the musical smoothness of the sound”.
The new amp features PRS’ recently revealed “Authentic Hendrix” Touring Circuit, which was influenced by one of Hendrix’s amps, supposedly used at Woodstock.
