The company co-founded by Kevin Parker has dropped a limited-edition transparent Orchid variant, the full release of its Pistil VST plugin and a star-studded short film ahead of a May 11 launch.
Telepathic Instruments is back with its most ambitious drop yet. On May 11, the company launches Clear Orchid: Arctic – a fully transparent, limited-edition variant of its breakout instrument, capped at 3,000 units worldwide. The classic Orchid colourway returns alongside it, as does the iconic orange carry case, available in a bundle or separately.
To mark the occasion, Telepathic has released a short film, TeleVision. Somewhere between a late-night psychic hotline and a deadpan send-up of the creativity industry, it follows Darlene LeClair, a musical medium with considerable charisma and questionable credentials. Narrated by Josh Homme, with appearances from Lewis Capaldi, Janelle Monáe and Fred Durst.

Telepathic co-founder Sophie Parker noted of the cameos, “Lewis Capaldi, Janelle Monáe, Fred Durst and Josh Homme are Orchid owners. They’re also, as it turns out, longtime Darlene clients. We didn’t plan that. Darlene probably did.”
The drop also marks the full release of Pistil, Orchid’s companion VST plugin, now available on Mac and Windows. The full release brings 10 new sounds built around Orchid’s three custom-designed synth engines – virtual analogue subtractive, FM and a vintage reed piano emulation – along with a rebuilt delay engine and stability improvements. Existing Orchid owners receive it at a discount.
Since launching just over a year ago, Orchid has sold 12,000 units across 60 countries, earned a spot on TIME’s Best Inventions of 2025 and found its way into studios including Abbey Road and Rue Boyer. It’s featured on releases like Don Toliver’s Octane, and artists from Kid Cudi and Diplo to Gracie Abrams and Mark Hoppus have put it to work.
