SoundBridge has released version 3.0.0 of its DAW, introducing Virtual Collaboration — a new add-on that lets musicians record and produce together in real time, from anywhere in the world.

Remote collaboration in music production has been a moving target for years. Plenty of tools promise seamless sessions across distances, but the reality often involves latency, clunky workarounds, and audio quality that doesn’t always hold up. SoundBridge’s answer in version 3.0.0 is Virtual Collaboration – now in public beta – a new add-on that takes a fairly comprehensive swing at solving all of it at once.

Catch up on all the latest news here.

The feature centres on sample-accurate latency compensation, which is the piece of the puzzle that tends to make or break remote recording. Without it, playback drifts, and recording becomes frustrating fast. Alongside that, Virtual Collaboration includes bi-directional DAW remote control, so both parties can interact with the session rather than one person flying blind. Integrated webcam and talkback keep communication natural, and lossless file transfer means the audio quality you’re working with in the session is the audio quality you keep.

Beyond the headline feature, version 3.0.0 brings a handful of meaningful updates to the built-in FX suite. All built-in effects have received new skins, and a toggle in Preferences now lets you switch between mono-colour and multi-colour display modes — a small but welcome touch for those who prefer a cleaner visual setup. The built-in EQ also gains low-pass and high-pass filters, rounding out what was already a capable onboard tool. Analyzer and EQ output curves have been smoothed out as well, which should make the visual feedback more readable during detailed editing work.

On the fixes side, a frustrating bug where double-clicking to detach the Sequencer caused it to freeze and become immovable has been resolved. Note off messages are now sent correctly on the original MIDI channel when stopping playback, which was causing issues for anyone working with external hardware, and changing track settings across multiple selected tracks now works properly in both the Mini Mixer and Mixer.

A new example project has also been included to showcase the Virtual Collaboration features for those wanting to jump in and see what it can do straight away.

SoundBridge 3.0.0 is available now via SoundBridge.
