Based on the widely acclaimed SSL SiX desktop mixer and incorporating feedback from artists, producers, and engineers, the BiG SiX is a 16-channel studio-grade mixing console with AD/DA conversion that combines features and technologies from the legendary large-format SSL consoles.

These include full USB integration, additional processing, and advanced routing capabilities, all with the quality that audio professionals have come to expect from SSL.

The BiG SiX offers 12 fully balanced input channels through four stereo channels and four mono channels, with the mono channels loaded with the company’s ‘SuperAnalogue’ mic preamps, phantom power, a high pass filter at 75Hz, and balanced inserts.

Each channel has a 3-band EQ whose high and low bands can be switched between shelf and bell characteristics, an upgrade from the SiX’s 2-band EQs.

The stereo channels feature Hi-Z switches and also offer 3-band EQs just without the shelf option, while the mono channels offer a one-knob SSL compressor.

The BiG SiX is similarly designed to its predecessor as an analogue frontend, and features an impressive 18-channel analogue summing capability at mixdown.

Other features include two independent headphone outputs with the comprehensive monitoring section, two stereo cue feeds, and a ‘Mix Bus’ inject for cascading additional SiX/BiG SiX consoles.

The BiG SiX is available now and is listed at €2,499 (approx. AU$3,955).
