Legendary audio manufacturer Shure has launched three new condenser microphones—the KSM32C, KSM40C, and KSM44MP—combining updated engineering with sleek aesthetics.
Shure has lifted the curtain on its refreshed KSM condenser microphones at NAMM 2026. Three new models are hitting the market, that blend the series’ reputation for pristine audio capture with contemporary design.

The KSM32C, KSM40C, and KSM44MP arrive as the latest evolution of a microphone range that’s been a studio staple for decades. Each model targets different recording scenarios while maintaining the hallmarks that made the KSM name synonymous with quality: ultra-low self-noise, true-to-life audio reproduction, and precision-engineered capsules. Engineer Greg Norman from Electrical Audio was particularly struck by the noise performance, noting he found himself double-checking whether the KSM32C was even active during a quiet vocal session. If that’s not impressively silent, we don’t know what is.
The KSM32C sits at the entry point with its ¾” capsule, delivering what Shure describes as the flattest voicing in the range. This large diaphragm condenser excels at vocals, instruments, drum overheads, and ensemble work, offering exceptional off-axis rejection in a compact design. It’s available in both stage and studio bundles, with the latter including a shock mount and magnetic pop filter.
Stepping up, the KSM40C features a 1″ capsule designed for warmth and detail. The microphone’s enhanced proximity effect and natural high-frequency boost make it particularly suited to sources where richness matters—upright bass, guitar amps, and kick drums. Its uniform cardioid polar pattern ensures predictable placement regardless of where you position it.
Topping the line, the KSM44MP brings multi-pattern flexibility with its dual-diaphragm design. Selectable between cardioid, omnidirectional, and bidirectional patterns, this microphone handles everything from intimate vocal sessions to distant miking and stereo techniques. The dual-diaphragm configuration maximises sensitivity while stabilising pattern consistency, particularly improving off-axis control at low frequencies.
All three models feature lightweight, all-metal construction wrapped in a sleek, modern aesthetic. Advanced shock mounts and curved magnetic pop filters come standard with the studio configurations, showing attention to the details that matter during long recording sessions.
The new KSM series represents Shure’s effort to make boutique-level quality accessible to both home and professional studios—a goal that seems well within reach, given the specs on offer.
