The Slash APH-2 and Slash Humbucker 2.0 are now available with modern specs, including 4-conductor wiring and Trembucker spacing.

Seymour Duncan has expanded its Slash signature humbucker line with modern specs that maintain the pickups’ classic tone. The Slash APH-2 and Slash Humbucker 2.0 were developed in collaboration with the Guns N’ Roses guitarist to replicate his ferocious tone on records for GN’R, Velvet Revolver, and his solo albums. Historically, both pickups have been available only in vintage specs: long mounting legs, single-conductor braided cable, and traditional humbucker spacing.

Catch up on all the latest news here.

Slash APH-2 and Slash Humbucker 2.0 sets now feature:

  • Short mounting legs for direct mounting and compatibility with a wider variety of guitars
  • 4-conductor cable enabling coil splitting, series/parallel wiring, and phase switching
  • Trembucker spacing for the bridge pickup, aligning strings perfectly with pole pieces on Floyd Rose-style locking tremolos, six-screw vintage Fender tremolos, or two-point fulcrum tremolo bridges

“I like the additional tonal possibilities of a coil split for a great variety of sounds,” Slash said. “I’m most fond of splitting the neck pickup. This is something I mainly use in the studio, but I also love having the option in live scenarios as well.”

Both humbucker sets are available with short ear mounting and 4-conductor cable wiring, with Trembucker options available on a longer lead time basis as made-to-order items. Sets are offered in black and zebra colour options.

The Slash APH-2 delivers the high-output tone heard on classic Guns N’ Roses recordings, while the Slash Humbucker 2.0 provides a slightly more balanced output with clarity across the frequency range. Both maintain the articulation and dynamics that made them favourites among rock players.

New additions to the Slash signature humbucker line will be available in Australia from early December 2025 through Australis Music Group.
