The SE Ed Sheeran Hollowbody I Piezo Baritone and SE Hollowbody I Piezo join the catalogue alongside limited-run amp colourways for the Sonzera 20 and HDRX series.

PRS Guitars has announced two new additions to its SE catalogue: the SE Ed Sheeran Hollowbody I Piezo Baritone and the SE Hollowbody I Piezo. Both land as part of the SE Series’ 25th anniversary year, alongside limited-edition amp colourways for the Sonzera 20 and HDRX range.

The Ed Sheeran collaboration started earlier this year with the SE Ed Sheeran Cosmic Splash Limited Edition. This new model carries the same spec into permanent catalogue territory, available in exclusive finishes Kaleidoscope and Pink Ombre, plus Orange Tiger Smokeburst. Built on a 27.7″ baritone scale with a maple top and mahogany back, the guitar features a fully hollow body with a centre-block design for resonance and controlled feedback, and PRS bird inlays on the fretboard. PRS 85/15 “S” pickups pair with a PRS/LR Baggs piezo system, letting players blend acoustic and electric signals or isolate either for stage or studio use.

Sheeran put the instrument’s range simply: “Metal guitarists will absolutely shred on this, jazz guitarists will love this, and it will be able to fit into so many great scenarios.”

The SE Hollowbody I Piezo shares much of the same DNA – maple top, mahogany back, hollow body with centre-block, 85/15 “S” pickups and the LR Baggs piezo setup – but runs on PRS’s standard 25″ scale. Where it differs is in the back design. The flatback construction gives the guitar a slimmer, contoured profile that sits against the body more like a solidbody, while still delivering the open, airy tone of a hollowbody. That slimmer back also lends the tone a slightly brighter character. The pickups are uncovered for a more modern aesthetic, and it’s available in Lake Blue and Orange Tiger Smokeburst.

Both models are built at Cor-Tek’s dedicated PRS factory at P.T. Cort in Indonesia.

On the amp side, PRS is offering limited runs of new coverings for the Sonzera 20 combo, HDRX 20 and HDRX 1×12 cabinet. Two colourways are available – Indigo with Wheat grill cloth and Black Paisley – with worldwide quantities ranging from just 75 to 200 pieces depending on model and colourway. If you’ve been waiting for a reason to pick up a PRS amp, this might be it.
