Ryan "Fluff" Bruce's first signature pedal adds metal-focused mods to a legendary screaming overdrive platform.

After pushing thousands of pedals to their limits on his wildly popular Riffs, Beards & Gear channel, Ryan “Fluff” Bruce has teamed up with Warm Audio to create his first signature pedal, built specifically for high-gain players.

The Fluff Drive takes the legendary ’80s screaming overdrive platform that metal and hardcore players have relied on for decades and adds the mods that modern rigs need. Available in teal (with limited quantities in white), it’s designed to slot effortlessly onto any metal or hard-rock pedalboard without endless tweaking.

So, what makes it different from the original? The previous iteration of the screaming overdrive has been a high-gain staple for years, hitting the front of an amp hard and driving power tubes into rich saturation far beyond standard preamp gain. What Fluff and the Warm Audio team have done is add features that better serve modern metal rigs.

A tighter low-boost circuit improves tracking for down-tuned guitars, baritones, and seven or eight-string setups—a crucial update for players working in extended-range territory. The mid-enhance switch can be placed before or after the gain stage, offering flexible tone shaping depending on what you’re chasing.

The high/low noise gate adapts for sustained leads or tight palm-muting, keeping things clean when you need precision. An 18V mode increases headroom for clearer gain staging, while premium analogue components ensure studio-grade performance whether you’re tracking or playing live.

Just like the original, the Fluff Drive contains JRC4558 op-amps and discrete transistors that defined the high-gain screaming pedal sound. Controls include drive, level, mid enhance, tone, pre/post mid enhance switch, modded low boost, voltage boost, and high/low/off noise gate—plenty of shaping options without unnecessary complexity.

Artists who’ve relied on the original platform include Gary Holt (Slayer), Isaac Hale (Knocked Loose), Rob Barrett (Cannibal Corpse), and Ola Englund. These are players who know what tight, focused high-gain tone requires.

Like all Warm Audio gear, the Fluff Drive is meticulously hand-tested and inspected by trained technicians in Austin, Texas, and comes with a five-year warranty. It’s built with 100% analogue circuitry using premium components, delivering the punch, response, and control Fluff trusts in his own rigs.
