The Guitar Boy is a working guitar and a working Game Boy at the same time, and it’s turning heads in all guitar-centric corners of the cyberspace. It was put together by renegade inventor/noted tinkerer Nolan at Fibbef Creations.
Nolan seems to spend a lot of his time creating new and interesting inventions (or reinventions) built predomantly out of old gaming consoles. He’s documented the entire process of building this guitar, from the initial idea, right through to the final set up. You can follow the development of the Guitar Boy, complete with questions from curoius onlookers on this thread at bitfixgaming.boards.net.
It’s certainly up there with the strangest guitars we’ve seen in some time. Since Nolan isn’t a super experienced luthier, as a guitar it probably leaves a lot to be desired. Further to that, as far as Game Boys go, this one is probably one of the tougher ones to play given its size, and the fact it has six string running down the face of it. Still, this is perhaps the most hilariously inventive novelty guitars we’ve ever had the good fortune of finding.
