Third Man Records are auctioning off a bunch of iconic White Stripes music gear

Running from Wednesday August 26 through to Sunday August 30, the Third Man Records ‘Garage Sale’ is set to feature a number of prominent White Stripes artifacts, with the most prominent being Meg White’s painted drum set used in the iconic ‘Hardest Button to Button’ music video.

There’s also an EVH Wolfgang Guitar (with matching shoes) used by Jack White in his ‘Over and Over and Over’ music video, as well as stage monitor covers and pedalboards, old pawnshop acoustics, effects pedals, studio gear, hi-fi, and a bunch of chandeliers deemed to be ‘possibly the best in the world’.

In a statement, Third Man Records said that the idea for the auction came after they ‘took the opportunity presented by the necessity of social distancing to comb through the storage vaults and hidden closets at their headquarters’. A portion of the proceeds from the auction will also go to a number of local foundations, such as John Peel Centre, Gideon’s Army, and the Detroit Phoenix Center.
