PRS GUITARS UNVEIL 2018 SE SERIES

Boasting one of the more unique colour schemes, the PRS SE Standard 24 Multi-Foil features a myriad of metallic colours – kind of reminiscent of the much loved children’s book The Rainbow Fish. The Multi-Foil is also loaded with a pair of 85/15 S humbuckers, push/pull tone knobs and a three way blade pickup switch. If you don’t dig the Multi-Foil finish, there’s also a bunch of standard finishes available.

With an extended 26.5″ scale length and a Wide Thin neck, the SE SVN is one of PRS’ most ambitious SE models, featuring the addition of a patented seven-string moulded tremolo system. While the SE SVN is loaded with the same pickups as the SE Standard, PRS has reworked them to suit a seven-string guitar, and with the addition of push/pull coil taps, this one looks to be a winner for the 2018 series.

Black Stone Cherry guitarist Chris Robertson is also honoured with the release of a signature SE model. Featuring a single cut mahogany back and flamed maple top with a rosewood fretboard, the Chris Robertson SE Signature also includes a 24.5″ scale and 22 jumbo frets on a Wide Thin mahogany neck. In addition, the Chris Robertson SE Signature features a unique combination of a P90 soapbar pickup in the neck and a 57/08 S bridge humbucker and a stopbar tailpiece, resulting in a riff ready rock machine for players of all calibres.

For those with a little bit more cash, two new SE Custom 24 guitars are also available, featuring more sophisticated veneer tops. While the electronics remain similiar to the aforementioned models, the SE Custom 24 models include the option for either spalted maple or zebrawood tops with a veneered Vintage Sunburst finish. There’s also a left-handed model available, which should please plenty of unorthodox guitarists out there.
