With so little information, all we can do is watch and critique, listen and analyse. From first glance the Kurv Guitar is based on the premise that there is a talented, guitar slaying musician inside of all of us. We see four trendy, fashion-focused individuals each pick up the two controls with looks of curiosity and clear reservations.
Within moments they are each donned in ‘rock star’ attire, wearing a choice of faded flannies, leather jackets and denim shorts, all the while playing the iconic chords of ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit’.
Invisible, non-instrument instruments are all the rage at the moment. It was only a couple weeks ago that we were writing about Aerodrums, the product that attempts to replicate the playing of a real drum kit without any of the actual toms, symbols, kick drum or snare. Now we have the guitar version, which looks set to launch a Kickstarter campaign in the coming months.
The promotional slogan for Kurv Guitar is ‘no strings attached’. And on first glance, it suits the product down to a tee. This electronic air guitar, seemingly with some way to go before it hits the market, isn’t much closer to playing an actual guitar than the air guitar you can play safely at home with your hands and imagination.
But for all we know, that may just be the point. Check out the video below.
