The Adamas U581T-SPM and MD80-NWT both boast graphite carbon fibre tops for a stunning resonance and aesthetic, as well as nuances and appointments that really underscore the company’s craftmanship. Both new models also feature Ovation’s top-of-the-line electronics and come shipped with a custom moulded hardcase.
The Ovation Adamas U581T-SPM features a mid-depth Lyrachord body with spalted maple epaulettes and a curly maple binding, as well as a slotted headstock and short scale neck that meets the body at the 12th fret. It’s also got a wider fretboard to allow for a better fingerpicking experience, and makes use of a distinct pin-less Keyhole bridge, which has been developed to enhance sustain and tonal clarity.
As an alternative, the MD80-NWT boasts hand-laid deep contour body, with the offset teardrop soundhole being trimmed with American black walnut for an impeccable look and feel. The distinctive soundhole design is said to provide ‘maximum resonance, amazing tone and projection’ from the thin-woven carbon top, while Ovation’s Op Pro Studio preamp allows for a sparkling live sound when plugged in.
