Twenty-one of Martin’s Standard Series models have received changes, including the popular D-45 and 000-28. The updates aim to modernise traditional Martin models, while still retaining the rich history that comes with a company that has existed for almost two centuries.
Features for the Standard Series Reimagined include a finish with an aging toner to create a vintage appearance, open-gear tuning, and a modernised high-performance neck for increased comfort. The fingerboard inlays align with classic Standard Series models, while the Martin logo on the headstock is reminiscent of traditional designs.
The Standard Series has been favoured by many iconic artists over the years: Eric Clapton used one of the models in an acoustic performance of ‘Layla’ in 1992, Hank Williams sported a D-28 as he became one of the biggest names in country music, and Elvis Presley was also known to perform with the D-28 throughout his stellar career.
Martin Guitars are distributed in Australia through Electric Factory.
