The Echoplex EP103 delay pedal has such crisp modulation with many different facets to its tone and it also comes in casing half the size of its predecessor, the EP-3 unit, making it the perfect pedal to tour with. Half the size of a Phase 90, the EP103 delivers the legendary EP-3 tones with a simple control interface and a hi-fi all-analogue dry path.
One of the more distinctive features the pedal delivers is the ‘Age Mode’, meaning that it can perform as a tape echo-machine that’s fresh out of the factory and if you play with the volume knob, you can adjust the ‘age’ of the sound, either making the tone darker or upping the tape’s saturation.
Dunlop have also included a tap tempo functionality, a specification that allows a four second delay slap back. The signal on this pedal is the same as the EP-3 unit, but allows for a stronger balanced tone by leaving dryer channels untouched.
