Crafted with Smith’s rigorous tour and studio schedule in mind, the updated USA Signature Adrian Smith San Dimas models feature a lightweight alder body and a bolt-on quartersawn maple neck, reinforced with a pair of graphite rods for ultimate neck stability. The SDM models are available with a maple fretboard and black pickguard, while the SD features an ebony fretboard with white pickguard.
The 12″-16″ compound radius fretboard and 22 jumbo frets make the San Dimas a perfect platform for zippy pentatonic shredding and ripping chords alike, while an updated heel-mount truss rod adjustment makes the neck easier to adjust than ever before.
Both models feature a DiMarzio Super Distortion DP100 humbucker in the bridge position, while Samarium Cobalt Noiseless Single Coil Strat pickups in the neck and middle position allow for a range of tonal options. The Jackson Adrian Smith San Dimas models also boast Floyd Rose Original double-locking tremolo systems to keep everything in tune even after the most abusive of divebombs, night after night.
“The nice thing is I pick one of these guitars out of the box and it’s like putting on a comfortable pair of jeans,” said Smith in a statement today. “Right away, I am totally comfortable with it, but it has the new feature of the adjustable truss rod thumbwheel so instead of having to take the neck off, you can just adjust it, which is a great feature.”
