Trueno (from the Spanish word for thunder) is a three oscillator analogue synthesiser packaged into a tiny USB stick. It features a 24 bit integrated analogue to digital converter in an aerospace grade aluminium case with a voltage controller filter, instant preset recall, and extensive modulation options.
The device works exactly like a plugin, allowing you to play, sequence, automate and recall presets with almost any DAW. Trueno provides true analogue sounds at a reasonable price point by eliminating the expensive user interface, operating on the fair assumption that the majority of producers will already own a MIDI keyboard and computer with which to use the USB.
Want to hear how it sounds? The Trueno website has uploaded a whole bunch of demos for you to try out.
While it isn’t available in Australia just yet, keep an eye on the Mixdown website and Trueno’s page for more information.
