As the last musical endeavour of Leo Fender before his passing in 1991, G&L Guitars are renowned for their tonal versatility and impeccable build quality, and it appears that the brand have retained this ethos with the Fullerton Deluxe Skyhawk. Reminiscent of designs such as Leo’s own Stratocaster and the Music Man Cutlass, the Fullerton Deluxe Skyhawk features three MFD single coil pickups with a five-way pickup selector, as well as a toggle switch to combine neck and bridge or all pickups simultaneously.
Based on George Fullerton’s original silhouette, The Fullerton Deluxe Skyhawk also features a hard-rock maple neck and Plek-dressed medium jumbo frets, as well G&L’s ever-reliable Leo Fender designed Dual-Fulcrum vibrato equipped with brass saddles for enhanced tuning stability.
There’s also two different wood/finish combinations to choose from: Three Tone Sunburst, which boasts an alder body and a Carribean rosewood fretboard; and Clear Orange over an ash body with a maple fretboard for that classic ’70s look.
