Gibson officially launch the Adam Jones Signature Les Paul

After being announced back in January and entering production in June of this year, Gibson have shared details of the Custom Shop model to their digital channels, with orders for the limited edition instrument being open to the public as of today.

Based on the Tool guitarist’s iconic 1979 Silverburst Les Paul, the Adam Jones Signature model boasts a hefty mahogany body with a three-piece maple top, as well as a select three-piece maple neck and 12″ radius ebony fretboard with 22 frets.

Replicating the designs of late ’70s Custom models, the guitar features a nitrocellulose Antique Silverburst finish, while seven-ply binding on the top of the body and five-ply binding on the back and headstock help add a touch of class to this riff machine.

In the electronics department, the Adam Jones Signature Les Paul boasts a Custom-Wound Seymour Duncan DDJ uncovered humbucker in the bridge position, while the neck is loaded with a reverse-mounted and covered Gibson Custombucker.

The guitar is also wired with a DiMarzio 500k potentiometer for the bridge pickup volume knob, while CTS pots comprise the rest of the guitar’s electronics.

Although there’s no nail embedded in the body of the guitar like on Adam’s own model, the Adam Jones Signature Les Paul does feature a replica of the mirror that the Tool guitarist has attached to his headstock, and comes with a certificate of authenticity and a custom-designed Silverburst hardcase.

For those with a little more cash to burn, there’s also another model on offer which has been artifically aged and signed by Jones himself – whether or not it’ll help you navigate 13/8 time signatures is yet to be revealed.
