The Front Row Legend Esquire line has been made by Master Builder Yuriy Shiskov using 100 year old Alaskan yellow cedar that were previously the original bench boards from the Hollywood Bowl amphitheatre.
“From its humble beginnings as a makeshift stage to its now-legendary status as one of the best concert venues in Southern California, the Hollywood Bowl is part of the rich tapestry of Hollywood history,” reads a statement on the Fender website. “This natural outdoor amphitheatre has hosted performances by some of the most well-known and respected artists of every musical genre; from Frank Sinatra to Jimi Hendrix and everyone in-between, the Hollywood Bowl has been bathed in pure musical magic for decades.”
The Front Row Legend is based directly on the single-pickup Esquire, which was the precursor to the Telecaster. It features a ‘60s style ‘Oval C’ quarter sawn maple neck with a 7.25” radius fingerboard, a Broadcaster bridge pickup made to the original specifications, oxidised brass hardware and a push-pull volume pot.
The wood itself retains the imperfections and cracks of the original material and each guitar bares a different seat number on the top of the body.
